Walker says he injured thumb while bird hunting
Governor pulled trigger, unlocked safety at same time
WEST ALLS, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker hit the campaign trail Saturday with a white bandage on his right thumb, the result of a hunting accident.
Walker says it happened while he was pheasant hunting in Oconto County last week.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Walker said at a campaign stop in West Allis that he pulled the trigger at the same time he unlocked the safety. Turns out that wasn’t such a good idea.
Walker says he got the bird, but his thumb took the kickback.
