Walker declares emergency following rain, floods
Emergency declaration made for Douglas, Ashland, Bayfield counties

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker has declared a state of emergency for three northwestern Wisconsin counties following rain and flood damage.
Walker announced Tuesday following a tour of the area that he was making the declaration for Douglas, Ashland and Bayfield counties.
Walker said damage from storms last week has caused more than $2.5 million in damage.
Much of Douglas and Bayfield counties received 3 to 5 inches of rain last week, with some areas getting more than 6 inches. Walker’s office said at least 500 homes and business were damaged.
Three people were killed early Thursday morning after their trucks plunged into the ravine after a 50-foot section of road was washed out in Clark County.
