Walker creates health and fitness council
Council will make recommendations for programs, policies
MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker has signed an executive order recreating the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Health.
Walker announced Wednesday that he was creating the council to make recommendations for programs and policies to improve fitness, health and nutrition.
Walker is charging the council with developing policy and program recommendations to improve children’s health, fitness and nutritional intake.
The council will also engage with community leaders and others to work on preventing obesity in Wisconsin residents.
