Walker, Burke take campaign trail photo together
WAUWATOSA, Wis. — Republican Gov. Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke are tweeting photos taken when they ran into each other at the airport in Green Bay.
The two are locked in a close race and have been rushing around the state in last-minute, get-out-the vote efforts.
Walker talked about their encounter Tuesday morning after voting in Wauwatosa.
He said he was at the airport when someone said Burke had arrived and suggested he go to his car. He said that he decided instead to go over and say hello to her.
He said he suggested they take a photo together and tweet it, which they did.
Walker says it was fun and “shows in the end we’re still all Wisconsites no matter who you are voting for.”
