Walker breaks ground on a Milwaukee interchange
Gov. Scott Walker broke ground on a Milwaukee interchange on Friday.
The project has been in the works for about seven years, and the governor said this finally means more jobs for some construction workers.
“One of the strengths for attracting investments — investment that leads to more jobs in this region — is a great transportation system,” Walker said.
After the ceremony in Milwaukee, Walker met with the state’s tourism director in western Wisconsin.
There, Walker announced the state’s tourism economy grew about 7 percent in 2011.
