Vos: Meeting with Gov. Evers was a ‘positive step forward’
MADISON, Wis. — Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said Friday that his meeting with Gov. Tony Evers was a “positive step forward to finding common ground in developing a more unified state response to the coronavirus pandemic.”
Vos, alongside Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu, met with Evers Friday morning to discuss COVID-19 relief following months of legislative inaction.
A spokesperson from Evers’ office said Friday morning that the meeting was “productive.”
Vos released the following statement after the meeting:
“I want to thank Governor Evers and Senate Majority Leader LeMahieu for talking today. It was a productive discussion and as expected, there were issues we agreed on and some that we didn’t. Regardless, I see today’s conversation as a positive step forward to finding common ground in developing a more unified state response to the coronavirus pandemic.”
