Vivian I. Patten
MADISON – Vivian I. Patten, age 83, passed away at home on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Vivian was born in Reedsburg on November 30, 1928 to Oscar and Mabel (Warren) Lange. She graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1946. Vivian moved to Madison in 1947 where she met and married Carl Patten on February 13, 1949. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and proud of her Lutheran Christian faith. Vi was an avid gardener and enjoyed summer outdoor activities.
Vivian is survived by her children, Linda (Jeff) Wolfe, Nancy (Errol) Jung, Sandy (Jim) Oughton, Pete (Judy), and Paul (Barb); grandchildren, Chad and Kyle Wolfe, Brian Jung, Aaron Oughton, Alyssa Wilson, Ashley and Pete, Paul Jr., and Diane Brzezinski; great-grandchildren, Krista, Eric, J.J., Carlie, Reagan, Morgan, and Miles; dear friend Jerry Vetter. Further survived by many relatives and special friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl (1973), brothers Eugene and Rolland Lange.
A service will be held at BETHLEHEM LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 Broadway Trail, Sun Prairie, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, with Pastor Charles Brandt presiding. Visitation will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, from 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 and again at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
