Violet M. (Jensen) Haushalter

MADISON / AURORA, MO.-Violet M. (Jensen) Haushalter, age 80, passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at her home in Aurora, Mo. She was born on Sept. 13, 1931, in Elroy, the daughter of Louie and Hazel (Teed) Jensen. Violet has resided in Wisconsin, Phoenix, Ariz., and moved to Aurora, Mo. to live with her daughter. She married Carl Edward Haushalter in 1968, together they blended their two families. Violet has always been a homemaker, and she loved babysitting for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and others. Violet and Carl had a cottage on Lake Wisconsin , which later became their permanent home. They made many happy memories at the lake, boating, water skiing, or just sitting around and talking with family and friends. Violet loved being surrounded by family. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting, crocheting, playing dominoes and euchre. Violet was actively involved in her church until it became hard to travel; through church, she volunteered taking care of the elderly and handicapped for short periods of time when their caregivers needed a break.

Violet is survived by her children, Randy (Naomi) Wonderly, Sandy Wonderly, Joyce (Brett) Wonderly -Siesen, Rodney (Bonnie) Haushalter, and Patricia (Robert) Haushalter -Schulenburg; grandchildren, Matthew Haushalter, Guy Reeve and Jody Medenwaldt, Amy Coplien and Brittney Siesen, Jonathan McMichael and Debra DiBella, and James, Shaun, and Brent McMichael; and great-grandchildren, Xavier, Brian, Mercedes, Cora and Nick, Liz, and Peter. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Bryan Siesen; and brothers and sister.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.
