Viking ship discovered buried in Norway
A huge underground discovery by scientists in Norway teaches us that you never know what kind of secrets are hidden just below the surface.
Archeologists used cutting-edge technology to make the startling discovery: a rare Viking longship – buried less than 2-feet below the topsoil.
A high-resolution, ground-penetrating georadar shows the nearly 66-foot-long ship is at least partially preserved.
The Norwegian Institute for Culture Heritage Research said only three other well-preserved Viking longships have ever been discovered in Norway.
Experts won’t immediately unearth the ship, but they will digitally map the site.
