Victorine “Vicky” Finnegan
MONONA – Victorine “Vicky” Finnegan, age 92, of Monona, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of Dr. William and Rosa (Zeller) Finnegan. Vicky served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. Vicky worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Savings and Loan for 30 plus years.
She is survived by her nephew, Jim (Nancy) Lutz; a great-niece, Michelle (Robin) Hellrood; a great-nephew, Jim (Sara) Lutz; great-great-nieces and nephews, Rachel Hellrood, Dylan Bobholz, Nicholas Hellrood and Nolan Lutz; a sister, Kathleen Hamilton; and many other nieces and nephews. Vicky was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret Lutz, Geraldine Gustin and Rose McCarty; along with other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, 5101 Schofield Ave., Monona, at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, with Father John Silva presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare. “And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you’re dead.”
