Victim in Beloit shooting identified
Three people face felony murder charges in death
BELOIT, Wis. — The Rock County Medical Examiner’s office has released the name of the 16-year-old boy killed in a Friday shooting in Beloit.
Officials said Savion N. Latimer, of Beloit, died of homicidal firearm trauma after being shot in the head around 3:30 p.m. Friday. An 18-year-old Beloit man was also hospitalized after suffering gunshot wounds to the face and leg in the Friday afternoon shooting in the parking lot of Krueger Haskell Golf Course.
Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, including 19-year-old Joldany Rodriuguez, of Beloit, and two 16-year-old boys. All three face charges of felony murder and armed robbery.
Beloit Police Capt. Dan Risse says two SUVs involved in the shooting were seized as evidence, and that everyone knew each other.
The surviving 18-year-old victim was also arrested on a probation violation and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
