Verona voters face 3 school referendum questions
VERONA, Wis. — Voters will decide Tuesday on 65 school referendums for districts across Wisconsin, and one of the major ones in the Madison area is in the Verona School District.
The referendums total more than $180 million. If all three are approved, property taxes would increase $105 on the average home, worth about $250,000.
The first question asks if voters want the district to build a new high school and renovate the current high school to serve as the new Badger Ridge Middle School. The second question asks if residents want the district to build a new swimming pool and athletic fields at the new high school. The third question proposed increased operating costs associated with the new facilities.
