Verona Road reconstruction to affect traffic starting Feb. 24
Project includes Verona Road, frontage roads between Beltline, Raymond Road
MADISON, Wis. — Construction on Verona Road from the Beltline to Raymond Road is scheduled to start Feb. 24, according to a release.
The initial project will install temporary traffic signals at the Beltline and Verona Road interchange, officials said.
Starting the week of March 10, all traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes of Verona Road between the Beltline and Raymond Road, according to the release. Two lanes will be open to traffic in each direction during the construction work.
Access to businesses and neighborhoods in the area will be available, officials said. Commuters are urged to use alternative routes to avoid expected delays.
The $28.2 million project also includes reconstructing frontage roads in the area, according to the release. Daytime and nighttime work in the area is planned during the project.
All traffic should switch to the northbound lanes of Verona Road in July 2014, official said. Construction is expected to be completed in November of 2014.
