Verona Hometown Days festival underway

VERONA, Wis. — The Hometown Days Festival is now underway in Verona.

Like many other events, the festival saw changes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, including being canceled in 2020 and moved to the fall in 2021. This year, it’s back to its regular form.

The event features carnival rides, a burger stand, and the traditional beer tent with live music. A fireworks display is set for 9:30 p.m. Friday, and the parade starts at noon on Sunday.

Money raised from the event benefits a dozen local organizations.

This year also marks the city’s 175th anniversary.

“It’s just really exciting to know that the community has been here for so long and has remained active and vibrant and that the whole community is actually pulling together for Hometown Days,” Le Jordan, the executive director of the city’s chamber of commerce, said.
