Vehicle strikes crashed, abandoned vehicle; Hwy. 151 closed 3 hours

Woman who refused to remove herself from tree arrested

Part of Highway 151 on Madison’s east side was closed for a few hours early Saturday because of a crash, police said.

The Madison Police Department said officers responded to a report of a two-car crash on Highway 151 near Nelson Road. It appeared a vehicle had struck the guard rail before coming to rest perpendicular to the lanes of traffic. The vehicle occupants then left the scene.

According to the report, a second vehicle was outbound on Highway 151 when it crashed into the abandoned suspect vehicle. This caused the second vehicle to roll, coming to rest on its rooftop. The driver of the second was not injured.

Police said the occupants of the suspect vehicle were not located Saturday morning.

Traffic was shut down for about 3 hours during the investigation, police said.
