Vehicle left warming up stolen, found abandoned after chase
Driver fled after abandoning vehicle
MADISON, Wis. — A vehicle stolen when it was left warming up was later found abandoned on Madison’s north side with the driver fleeing, according to a release from Madison police.
Police said a 62-year-old woman saw the man get into her vehicle at 500 Banding Lane and drive off at about 7:20 a.m. Officers spotted the vehicle about 30 minutes later near Gammon Road and the Beltline. There was a short pursuit and the vehicle fled into Middleton.
The vehicle was spotted again 20 minutes later on Madison’s north side. Officers said the driver abandoned the vehicle on Tennyson Lane and ran away.
Officers were unable to find the driver.
