Driver was transported to hospital for injuries sustained in crash
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A vehicle that crashed into a Janesville duplex Tuesday afternoon left a 4-by-6 foot hole for residents to deal with, officials said.
Emergency crews responded to reports of an injury crash in the area of 1917 N. Pontiac Drive around 1:35 p.m., according to a release.
Firefighters with the Janesville Fire Department found a small sedan up against a duplex when they arrived, officials said. The driver, Aron Riley, 40, of Fort Atkinson, had gotten out of the vehicle before crews arrived.
Riley was transported to St. Mary’s Janesville Emergency Department for injuries sustained in the crash.
No tenants were home at the time of the crash, according to the release. The structural integrity of the building was intact, but electricity to the affected areas had to be turned off.
