Valerie Ann Schmudlach
JEFFERSON-Valerie Ann Schmudlach, age 21, of Jefferson, passed away on Oct. 20, 2012, from injuries sustained from being a passenger in a car accident. She was born on Sept. 3, 1991, in Madison, the daughter of Donald and Cheryl (Borchardt) Schmudlach. Valerie was a 2010 graduate of Lake Mills High School and was attending MATC. Valerie earned her 2nd degree brown belt In Shaolin Kempo Karate, She enjoyed entering hula hoop contests but most of all she loved the outdoors, especially camping. She was also a talented artist, She enjoyed making special keepsakes for friends and relatives.
Valerie is survived by her parents; sister, Amber (Jarrett Zwieg) ; niece, Isis Zwieg; maternal grandparents, Albert and Kathy Borchardt; paternal grandparents, Donald and Ruby Schmudlach; uncle, Bill (Norma) Schmudlach; aunts, Kim Von Allmen and Susan (Roger) O’Leary; lifelong best friend, Renee Schaller ; and leaves behind many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 with the Rev. Jerry Amstutz presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.
Family and friends describe Valerie as a down to earth, kind hearted, strong young woman who always went out of her way to help others and offer everyone a smile. She has touched many lives and will be deeply missed.
