UWPD warns of electronic bike and scooter thefts

MADISON, Wis. — The UW-Madison Police Department said they took seven reports of stolen motorized scooters and electric bikes from various locations on campus at 3:00 p.m. today in a crime warning to the UW-Madison community.

The UW-Madison Police Department is actively investigating these incidents.

The warning reminded of some crime prevention suggestions including always being aware of surroundings, recording serial numbers, taking photos of expensive items, always locking bikes to a solid fixed object and avoiding cheap locks.
