UW-Madison helping vaccinate entire families at ‘The Nick’
MADISON, Wis. — UW-Madison Health Services is helping vaccinate children by giving vaccines to those 12 years old and up.
They’re administering the Pfizer, Modern and Johnson & Johnson vaccine at the Nicholas Recreation Center on West Dayton Street every week day between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., other than being closed from noon to 1 p.m.
“What we really hope is that families may take this opportunity,” UW Physician Assistant Megan Crass said. “For adults who may not have been vaccinated yet, they can bring their entire family, and again, we can vaccinate anyone 12 and older and they can all have it done together.”
UW vaccinated about 60 people at “The Nick” on Monday.
Right now, more than 17% of kids in the 12-15 age group in Dane County has had at least one shot, more than three times higher than the statewide rate of 5% of kids in that age group so far.
