UW Health to offer free physicals for uninsured high school athletes
WIAA requires physicals for student athletes
MADISON, Wis. — UW Health officials will be teaming up with the Dane County Sports Medicine Council to offer free physicals for high school athletes without insurance in the Dane County area.
“For student-athletes who have no health insurance or very limited financial resources, this eliminates a hurdle to participation and ensures that they can stay active and do what they like to do,” said Joe Greene, athletic trainer and administrator with UW Health.
The free clinic is Wednesday, August 8 at the South Madison Health and Family Center at 2202 S. Park St.
Organizers said parents should attend with their children and must be present for their child to receive immunizations. Parents also need to bring their child’s immunization records.
