USPS holds job fair in Madison

MADISON, Wis. — The U.S. Postal Service is looking to fill immediate openings in Madison.

The agency held a job fair for multiple positions Friday, including city and rural carriers.

Jeff Braaksma, a customer relations coordinator, said there’s plenty of room for employees to grow a career with USPS.

“Once you start as a carrier perhaps, then there’s a ton of other opportunities within the postal system, there’s like 2,000 different positions in the postal service, so it’s not just carriers or working in the plant or working at the window as a clerk,” he said. “There’s all kinds of IT jobs and personnel jobs and all kinds of things, but from managers, station managers, post masters those kinds of things.”

The USPS in Madison holds job fairs every Friday at its main office. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass a drug screening and criminal background check and able to work weekends and holidays.
