Unoccupied vehicle found in Rock River

HUSTISFORD, Wis. — Officials in Dodge County pulled an unoccupied vehicle from the Rock River on Wednesday afternoon.

A news release said a group of people swimming in the river near Elmwood Road in the town of Hustisford called 911 at around 3 p.m. after finding a submerged vehicle.

Firefighters deployed a watercraft and confirmed there was a discarded BMW 323 in the water. The Beaver Dam Fire Department Dive Team said no one was inside the vehicle.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate how the car ended up in the river. Those with information are encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at 920-386-3726.

Deputies received help from Hustisford Fire/EMS, the Beaver Dam Dive Team, Iron Ridge Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, DCERT and Advanced Towing.
