Unattended cooking caused fire that left Madison resident dead
MADISON, Wis. — A fire at a Madison apartment unit that left one person dead was caused by unattended cooking, fire department officials said Monday.
A person was found dead Sunday following a fire at an apartment unit in the 700 block of Braxton Place. Officials said the fire extinguished itself.
The cause of the person’s death remains under investigation, and details about the victim have not been released. Fire department officials said Sunday that the death is not believed to be suspicious.
