Two Middleton police squad cars damaged after being hit by suspected drunken drivers

MIDDLETON, Wis. — Two Middleton police squad cars have been damaged since last Sunday after drunk drivers crashed into them.

According to a news release, Officer Tim Francis was rear-ended by a drunken driver during a traffic stop on Greenway Boulevard around 2:40 a.m. last Sunday.

Sgt. Tyler Loether was patrolling on Pleasant View Road early Saturday morning when the squad car he was driving was struck nearly head-on by an oncoming car driven by a drunken driver, the release said.

Officials said no one was injured in either crash.
