Two injured after fuel tanker, garbage truck collide, crash causes propane leak
Roads near the crash currently closed
JOHNSON CREEK, Wis. — Two drivers were taken to the hospital after a crash between a garbage truck and fuel tanker near Johnson Creek.
The crash happened Friday morning at the County Road B and County Road D intersection in Jefferson County.
Both vehicles rolled over during the crash, according to Sgt. Scott Zovar with the Wisconsin State Patrol. Both drivers were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Propane spilled during the crash and the DNR was called to the crash scene. The DNR has since deemed the area safe.
One home was evacuated as a result of the crash for safety precautions, Zovar said.
Highway B is currently closed between Highway X and Highway P. Highway D is closed between Ranch Road and Bakerton Road. It’s unclear when the roads will reopen.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is handling the investigation. The State Patrol’s drone is in the air taking pictures in case the crash needs to be reconstructed, Zovar said.
Tow trucks are also at the scene to see if they can remove the trucks, Zovar said.
