Two teens arrested in connection with stolen vehicle, police say
MONONA, Wis. — Law enforcement officials with the Monona Police Department arrested two people early Sunday morning after they spotted a stolen vehicle traveling at a high speed on Bridge Road.
According to a news release, an officer saw a black Hyundai Sante Fe traveling at a high speed on Bridge Road from Lake Point Drive at approximately 1:00 a.m. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle drove off. When the driver of the stolen vehicle tried to make a left turn onto Graham Road, the vehicle slid off the roadway into a snowbank.
After a short foot pursuit, the officer was able to arrest 18-year-old Jacklynn L. Bass.
A K9 track led to the arrest 18-year-old Daniel L. Abston in the 6200 block of Winnequah Road.
Both Abston and Bass were transported to the Dane County Jail. Abston was booked on charges of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent – driver, eluding an officer and resisting arrest. Bass was booked on charges of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent- passenger and resisting arrest.
In an incident report from the Madison Police Department, officials said the vehicle was stolen from a Deerwood Drive home Saturday night.
