Two arrested after Middleton road rage incident
MIDDLETON, Wis. — Middleton police say two men who argued and fought with each other as part of a road rage incident are now both facing charges.
Middleton officers were called to the Costco gas station on Deming Way on May 31 for a report of two people fighting. Before officers could get there, one of the men involved had already left.
Police talked to the other man and learned the two got upset with eachother’s driving somewhere near the Beltline and University Avenue. Police say the two exchanged words and hand gestures before stopping at the gas station to confront eachother.
One of the men got out armed with a knife and pepper spray, and the two ended up in a physical fight, with both getting sprayed with the pepper spray and one of the men suffering a wound on his leg from the knife.
Middleton police say they decided to charge both men — 23-year-old Miles Xavier of Madison and 34-year-old Charles Pereau of Middleton — for the incident after conducting interviews and reviewing video of the incident. Xavier faces charges of aggravated battery while armed, while Pereau faces charges of battery.
