Twelve Wisconsin counties file lawsuit against drug companies
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Twelve Wisconsin Counties filed new lawsuits today against pharmaceutical companies for allegedly contributing to a drug epidemic in Wisconsin and nationally.
The law firms Crueger Dickinson LLC and Simmons Hanly Conroy announced in a statement today that they will be representing the Wisconsin counties in the lawsuit against 14 defendants.
In the statement, the law firms allege that pharmaceutical companies used fraudulent marketing on opioid painkillers,and created false perceptions of safety in using the prescription drugs.
The twelve counties filing lawsuits are Brown, Crawford, Iron, Juneau, Kewaunee, Outagamie, Ozaukee, Pepin, Portage, Racine, Richland and Winnebago.
These counties join 48 others in Wisconsin that are also pursuing lawsuits against drug companies.
