Truck driver injured in crash on HWY 151
VERONA, Wis. — A portion of Highway 151 was temporarily closed Thursday morning after a semi-truck crash.
The Verona Fire Department responded to a crash at 11:40 a.m. According to a news release, the driver had attempted to avoid debris in the highway.
A crew arrived and found the vehicle caught up in the barrier cable and facing the wrong direction on the highway. Officials said fluid had also been leaking from the truck.
No other vehicles were involved, and only one person was inside the semi during the crash. Crews removed the truck from the barrier and off the highway, while the driver was brought to a hospital for treatment.
The southbound lanes on Highway 151 were shut down and traffic was rerouted for roughly two hours before reopening.
Officials said the highway department has since cleaned up the scene and contained the fuel.
