Trial dates scheduled for student accused of sexual assault at Madison East High School homecoming party
MADISON, Wis. — Trial dates have been scheduled for an 18-year-old accused of sexually assaulting a young woman at a Madison East High School homecoming party last year, online court records show.
Baboucarr Nyang is charged with felony counts of second-degree sexual assault/use of force and strangulation and suffocation stemming from the party on Oct. 10, 2021. A criminal complaint alleges he strangled and sexually assaulted the victim during the party.
Jury selection in the case is now scheduled for March 20, with trial dates set for March 21 and 22.
The incident prompted students at East High School to hold a walkout in support of the victim.
