Trial date set for Madison East High School teacher facing child pornography charges
Trail is set for September 21 at 9 a.m. in U.S. Federal Court
MADISON, Wis. — A trial date has been set for the Madison East High School teacher facing federal child pornography charges.
At a federal court hearing Thursday, Judge Stephen L. Crocker set the trial date for 37-year-old David M. Kruchten to September 21 at 9 a.m.
Kruchten is accused of being involved in two incidents where hidden cameras were placed in students’ hotel rooms on a trip to Minneapolis.
Kruchten was supposed to appear at his court hearing Thursday, but waived his appearance.
Kruchten’s attorney said he may challenge the search warrants in the case. Meanwhile, state attorneys said they may add on traveler charges for the trip to Minneapolis.
Kruchten is facing seven counts of child pornography charges. If convicted, he could serve a maximum of 15 years for each count.
