Tree limb crashes through roof into family room of west Madison home, fire officials say
MADISON, Wis. — A large branch broke off a tree fell into a west Madison home Friday night, officials said.
The Madison Fire Department said it responded at 10:05 p.m. to a report of a tree falling into a home in the 5200 block of Whitcomb Drive.
According to the report, the homeowner directed the crew to an area where a large limb rested against the side of the house. Firefighters went to the roof and saw that the large branch had crashed through the roof into the family room after it fell off a nearby tree.
Firefighters placed a tarp on the roof, and a restoration company was called to patch up the two holes left behind by the tree limb.
