Trailer home destroyed by fire, officials say

House fire in Janesville forces family from home

A trailer home was destroyed by a fire that investigators believe started in the living room Monday afternoon, according to a release.

The Clinton Fire Department was sent to 9204 E. Creek Road, Lot No. 1 in the town of Bradford around 2:45 p.m. for reports of a structure fire, officials said. Crews were notified that the trailer was fully engulfed and filled with smoke.

Crews put out the fire, but the east end of the trailer was destroyed and the west end was severely damaged by fire, smoke and water, according to the release. The trailers south and east of the fire were also damaged.

Overhead electrical wiring was burned off the transformer pole and the overhead cable TV line was damaged, officials said.

Fire crews were on the scene for about two hours, according to the release.

Officials said there is no known damage estimate because the residence was not insured.

No one was home at the time of the fire, officials said. The cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators believe the fire started in the living room area of the trailer.
