Traffic stop leads to drug arrests in Ridgeway, police say
RIDGEWAY, Wis. — Two people were arrested Saturday night after police found drugs and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop, according to a Facebook post.
A Ridgeway officer was conducting stationary traffic enforcement around 8:50 p.m. when the officer noticed a vehicle that failed to dim its high beam lights for an oncoming vehicle, officials said.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and determined the driver had a revoked license due to a prior alcohol-related offense, according to the post.
After a short conversation, the officer determined there were illegal narcotics in the vehicle.
Officials said the passenger had approximately 1,593.9 grams of THC, 12.6 grams of THC wax and about 8.7 grams of THC dabs.
The driver was arrested on tentative charges of operating after revocation, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was also cited for failure to dim for an oncoming vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
The passenger was arrested on tentative charges of possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver THC.
