Traffic lights restored, stores reopened following power outage on University Avenue
MADISON, Wis. — Traffic lights were restored and stores have reopened following a temporary power outage on University Avenue on Sunday.
Dane County dispatch said Madison Gas & Electric went to North Midvale Boulevard at 9:51 a.m. after a report of the traffic lights there being shut down.
Stores that were reported to have been closed included the Walgreens and a nearby shopping center.
Madison police said they believed the power outage happened due to someone striking a utility box Sunday morning.
Officials said power to the area was restored and units were cleared within a couple hours.
