Threats written to Waukesha County churches may be from manhunt suspect
WAUKESHA, Wis. — Churches in Waukesha County have received threats of violence on Easter Sunday by someone claiming to by Joseph Jakubowski, the Janesville man at the center of a nationwide manhunt.
According to a news release, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the threat, which was sent to unspecified churches in the Sussex area through the mail.
Authorities said they are unable to determine if it was Jakubowski who wrote the threats at this time.
Deputies are asking Waukesha residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior in the area.
The sheriff’s office has added resources to the investigation and is working with the churches.
