Thousands participate in 12th annual Berbee Derby
Running’s not a typical turkey day activity, but it’s quickly becoming a Thanksgiving tradition in our area. Thousands hit the pavement in Fitchburg for the 12th annual Berbee Derby, Thursday. Runners of all ages put in either a 5k or 10k run. Participants said the run helps them earn an extra helping of mash potatoes at Thanksgiving dinner.
“Exercise is good for you, and then you can eat a lot more before you take your nap,” said Casey Waddell, who was running with his mom.
Money raised at the event helps benefit technology education throughout the community.
