Thousands of dollars of merchandise stolen from Burnie’s Rock Shop Saturday, police say
MADISON, Wis. — Police responded to Burnie’s Rock Shop on the 900 block of East Johnson Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release.
The release said officers found the front window and a display case smashed. A blood trail leaving the business was also discovered, police said. It appeared the burglar was injured during the crime.
Officials report thousands of dollars of merchandise has been stolen from the shop, and no one was in the building, according to the release.
According to the shop, silver chains, gemstone rings and pendants in silver were taken. The store was in “no condition to open” Monday afternoon, the store said in a Facebook post.
