Thomas V. Buechner
CROSS PLAINS – Thomas V. “Tom” Buechner, age 64, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He died of multiple myeloma and cardiac amyloidosis.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1947, in Madison, the son of Florian and Edith (Saeman) Buechner. Tom was united in marriage to the love of his life, Maggie Poss on April 8, 1972, in Tomah. He worked for the UW Medical School for 36 years until his retirement in June 2002 and owned and operated a small grains business for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Tom loved following the Packers, fishing, deer camp at Larry’s and any activity on a farm.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maggie; his children, Bill (Jill) Buechner and Jennifer Buechner; a grandson, Carter; his mother, Edith; his siblings, John (Eileen) Buechner, Jim (Diane) Buechner, Janet (Lee) Kernen and Rita Buechner; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, with Fr. Thomas Kelley presiding. Inurnment will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
