Thieves taking catalytic converters
2 theft cases reported at East Towne Mall
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating the theft of catalytic converters from vehicles at the East Towne Mall parking lot.
A 58-year-old woman from Brooklyn found the catalytic converter missing from her car after she parked near J.C. Penney Aug. 25 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
A 36-year-old Sun Prairie woman reported a stolen catalytic converter Aug. 21 while parked near Dick’s Sporting Goods between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Police said the thieves are taking the catalytic converter for their scrap metal value.
