Barron artist Chris Kroeze thanked his Wisconsin fans before his performance on Monday’s episode of “The Voice.”

“The whole state of Wisconsin’s going nuts,” Kroeze said. “I’ve seen signs at the dry cleaners, at fire department, at the community center.”

The artist said his old elementary school had a Chris Kroeze dress-up day.

He said he also said that a large part of his fan base comes from troops overseas in the U.S. Armed Forces.

“They’re over there sacrificing huge chunks of their life, sometimes their entire life,” Kroeze said. “So having their support is really special to me.”

Monday was fan week on the show. A fan chose “Long Train Runnin'” by The Doobie Brothers for the Wisconsin native to sing. Kroeze thanked his fans for picking the “perfect” song for him.

A room full of fans in Barron introduced Kroeze’s performance on the show.

“We are at the Barron community Center cheering on our hometown guy Chris Kroeze,” a fan said as the crowd behind him erupted in applause.

Kroeze is among the Top 11 performers of “The Voice.” Fans have to vote for their favorite artists to help them continue into the Top 9. The results will be announced Tuesday night.

“You can see Barron Wisconsin from space right now,” Kroeze’s coach Blake Shelton said. “I guarantee you people are freaking out.”
