The Spam Report: Day #163: “800,000 Great British Currency”
MY DESK: MADISON — Thanks to Janet in Baraboo for today’s Spam Report submission.
She does not know a Chris Colin Weir or his/her family, so you can imagine her surprise when she heard she was getting a “donation of 800,000 Great British Currency.”
Sounds great until you realize that you’re never going to get a huge “donation” from someone you don’t know who also can’t spell, but also, there is no such thing as a “Great British Currency.” The Brits operate under a currency commonly called the “Pound.” Its official name is the “Pound Sterling.” Nowhere in the United Kingdom would anyone have a clue what the “Great British Currency” is. The only nickname for the pound is that some Brits call their money “quid.”
It’s a phishing expedition for your personal information.
Please don’t fall for this. Just hit delete.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Thanks again, Janet.
