The Spam Report: Day #148: “Uranium Sales!!!”

Throughout our more than six-month crusade against spammers/scammers, it’s rare that we come across something we haven’t seen before. When we do, we like to feature it, so you’ll know what to look for if it comes your way.

With that said, I present to you an email sent to my colleague, Steve Koehn, the intrepid producer of Live at 5. But I believe it is his status as an overall News 3 guru which led him to receive the following email that asks if he wants to buy uranium.

Yes, you read that correctly. This is the stuff that causes hair to be pulled out all over the world as enriched uranium is the vital component to making a nuclear weapon. Countries who have it are desperate to keep others from getting it. Military strikes are threatened to prevent it from being achieved.

And while, granted Steve was not offered the machinery needed to separate the isotopes to enrich the uranium, I’m guessing if he were to purchase the chemical, he’d end up on watch lists of the NSA, the FBI, the CIA, the KGB, the Mossad and every other security agency known to the civilized world.

Apparently, he didn’t listen to my advice and he answered the email. You’ll need to skip to the 4:00 mark or so to understand the joke:

Thanks for reading and remember, just hit delete.
