Terry Lynn Clark

MADISON – Terry Lynn Clark, affectionately known as TLC, age 80, of Madison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s, on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at Sylvan Crossing in Fitchburg. She was born on Aug. 27, 1942, the daughter of Hubert and Helen (Robertson) Dinkheller.

Terry graduated from Elkhorn High School with the class of 1960.  She worked as a CNA for several years and as her children grew older, she took a position as a cook. Terry was also the proud owner of the resale shop, The Clothes Crossing in Madison and an independent sales consultant for Avon and Mary Kay. She retired from TDS after many years in customer service.

Terry was a long-time member of the Unity of Madison Church.  She taught Sunday School when she was younger and then in her later years, wrote cards for the Greeting Card Ministry to members of the church for special occasions.  Terry also volunteered for Woman’s Transit. She was very caring and had a wonderful sense of humor. Terry participated at local festivals as a clown and loved being around the children.  She forever loved bringing joy and happiness to people’s lives.  This didn’t stop when Terry moved into assisted living.  While living at Avalon and Sylvan Crossings, she was known as the greeter.  Terry loved sitting in her wheelchair by the front door and welcomed everyone in with a friendly hello and a smile that warmed their hearts.

Terry is survived by her son, Mark (Barb) Clark; daughter, Ginger (Joel) Shomberg; grandchildren, Stefanie (Jenna) Hulett, Cina Barlow, Layla Clark, Jennifer Shomberg and Timothy (Jordan) Shomberg; and a great-grandchild, Quinton Solberg. She always had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephew along with their families, Kelly (John) Key, Erin (Mike) Downey, Carrie (Rick) Peterson, and Tony (Susie) Frantal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Helen; and sister, Judith Dinkheller.

A memorial service will be held at NEW HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1705 Center St., Black Earth, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, with Pastor Rob Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.

The family would like the thank the staff at Avalon Assisted Living, Sylvan Crossings Memory Care, Agrace HospiceCare, along with her amazing team of doctors, Dr. Anne Kolan, Dr. Alicia Ellison and Dr. Rebecca Koslov for their wonderful care and guidance along her journey these past several years.  We are forever grateful!  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
