Robber wearing ski mask claims to have pistol; No weapon seen
VILLAGE OF BROWNSVILLE, Wis. — Dodge County officials say they’ve arrested a teen who they believe robbed a gas station of cigarettes and claimed to have a gun Monday morning.
Around 10:10 a.m., Dodge County officials received a 911 call from a clerk at the BP Gas Station at 868 Main St. in the village of Brownsville, according to a release.
The clerk told police a person wearing a ski mask and hooded sweatshirt asked for a carton of cigarettes.
When the clerk asked for identification to confirm the person’s age, the robber said he had a pistol in his waistband, officials said. The robber fled the scene on foot with the carton of cigarettes.
The clerk did not see a weapon, according to the release.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage from the gas station and arrested at 17-year-old at his home in Brownsville Tuesday morning.
