Teen cited for firing pellet gun Sunday
Teen told police he bought gun Saturday
MADISON, Wis. — A 16-year-old Madison boy was cited for discharging a firearm on Sunday, after a concerned citizen contacted police.
Madison police said the citizen had seen a teen with a gun following a woman into a residence on the 7000 block of Tree Lane about 6 p.m. Officers found the woman, who said the teen was helping her move some furniture. She told police she noticed the teen had a pellet gun tucked in his waistband and she had asked him to put it away before they moved her dresser.
Police said the firearm had no markings to indicate it was a pellet gun. The teen told police he bought the pellet gun on the street the day before. He told police he had been shooting at trees and bottles just before going into the woman’s apartment.
Madison police also gave the teen a citation, because no one under the age of 16 can be armed with a firearm/pellet gun.
