Teen brothers killed in collision with trees
Deputies: Speed a factor in crash
TOWN OF BUFFALO, Wis. — Two teenage brothers were killed when their vehicle went off a road and struck a group of trees, according to a release from the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to State Highway 22 north of 17th Road in the town of Buffalo at 6:40 p.m. Sunday for a report of a single-vehicle crash.
Investigators said the driver, Tyler Sweeney, 18, of rural Oxford, was driving north on Highway 22 when he lost control and entered the east ditch, striking a group of trees.
Sweeney, and his brother, Gunner Sweeney, 14, of Portage, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies said speed is a factor in the crash. Both were wearing seat belts.
