Taco Bell one step closer to serving alcohol in downtown location
MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Alcohol License Review Committee has approved a request for a downtown fast food restaurant to sell alcohol.
A new Taco Bell location on State Street — where Wendy’s used to be — wants to open up a cantina. The committee approved a license Wednesday night, saying the restaurant could sell beer and wine until 10 p.m.
The two members who voted against the proposal said there are already too many places in the State Street area selling alcohol.
The ALRC also agreed to start a subcommittee to research alcohol licenses for establishments that don’t typically sell alcohol, such as fast food restaurants.
