A man faces drug charges after almost hitting a police car while an officer was conducting a crash investigation Saturday night on the Beltline.

Around 10:20 p.m. Middleton police were investigating a crash on Highway 12 at Greenway Boulevard that shut down the inside westbound lane, officials said.

During the crash investigation a vehicle driven by Rondale L. Harris, 31, of Madison, was driving west in the inside lane and almost hit a fully-marked squad car with emergency lights on, according to the release.

Harris was stopped, and police said he was intoxicated and had numerous baggies of THC. He was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and felony possession with intent to deliver THC.
